Greenwich Amenities
Being a Greenwich resident, you get to enjoy many top notch recreational facilities: 40+ parks, playgrounds, tennis courts, resident-only beaches (2 require town ferries to get to), ice skating ring, skate park, 3 civic centers, 4 public marinas, a public golf course, youth and adult programs, an extensive library system, a YMCA with Olympic-size pool.
Location! Location! Location!
The location of the apartment is super convenient being close to major highways. It's 2.5 miles drive to downtown Rye, 2.5 miles to Greenwich Avenue, it's also very easy to hop on I-95 to head north into New England or to head south into NYC (28 miles to midtown). It's 10 minute drive to Westchester Airport and 30 minutes to LaGuardia Airport. A quick ride on 287 brings us to the heart of White Plains shopping and dining (10 min). Within 10 minutes walk you can get to a train station (36-minutes express to Grand Central station in midtown NYC) and CT Transit 11B at the corner takes you to downtown Greenwich and downtown Stamford. Also parks, a beach, a swimming pool, school and library are all a short walk away. You can also walk to 2 banks, 2 supermarkets (Tarry Market, Super Stop & Shop), Costco Port Chester, a performing theater, a 14-plex movie theater, a medical center, and many great restaurants! In fact, Walk Score of the house is 94, better than most of the Manhattan!
Byram Park and Pool is a mere half-mile away from the house. Sun-bathing, dip in the water, kayak, or swim in the public town pool.
Byram River divides NY and CT, it has many marinas and riverwalks. 5 minute walk to Mill Street Bridge that connects 2 states.
The Byram Library (part of the extensive Greenwich Library system) is one block away.
Behind the library it's the neighborly New Lebanon School, which is 3-min walk away from the house.
Port Chester is 5 minute walk away. It is a big melting pot of cuisines: Mexican, Central American, Latin American, Italian, Seafood, Indian and Asian. Port Chester has it's own shopping areas and a nice movie theater next to some nice food options. Port Chester is a typical Westchester town: restaurants, shopping, some entertainment, parks and residential areas.
Notable restaurants on Port Chester side: Sam's Bar and Grill P.C.N.Y. , Tandoori-Taste of India, Port Chester China House, Tarry Lodge, The Willet House, Q Restaurant & Bar, Longford's Ice Cream, Sonora Restaurant, Alba's Restaurant, Caffe Del Monte
